Obrin was born out of a deep frustration—and a powerful realization.
While working in the tech and multimedia space in Montreal, our founder saw firsthand how much economic potential was being lost—not because of a lack of talent or opportunity, but because of a lack of connection.
Jobs were going unfilled. Skilled people were being overlooked.
Local services were fragmented, and entire industries were missing out on digital infrastructure.
The idea for Obrin first emerged during the COVID-19 pandemic.
With on-demand services banned at the time, the initial app vision had to be paused—but the problem couldn’t be ignored. So we studied the market, connected with professionals and tradespeople, and spent time understanding what businesses and workers in the Greater Montreal Area really needed.
By late 2024, the vision was clear:
Canada didn’t just need a job platform—it needed a connected digital ecosystem.
